Radcliffe Group, a leading educational publisher dedicated to supporting lifelong learning for healthcare professionals, today announces the upcoming launch of Transcatheter Academy – a comprehensive online destination designed to meet the evolving educational needs of professionals in the field of interventional cardiology.

Transcatheter Academy will unify all of Radcliffe’s intervention and structural heart content from its wider platforms – including the deep catalogue from Radcliffe Cardiology – into a single, free-to-access resource. The platform will focus on case-based learning, educational webinars, a regular journal club, interviews with leading interventionalists, late-breaking clinical trial updates, and support practice optimisation through guides and workflow protocols. In addition, Transcatheter Academy will be complemented by the inclusion of high-impact articles from Interventional Cardiology3 – Reviews, Research, Resources, Radcliffe’s leading open-access journal.

As part of this exciting development, Radcliffe is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Karim Al-Azizi as the inaugural Editor-in-Chief of Transcatheter Academy.

Dr Al-Azizi currently serves as Medical Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories, and interventional cardiologist and structural heart disease specialist at Baylor Scott & White Health, The Heart Hospital Plano, Texas, US.

“It is an honour to accept the role of Editor-in-Chief of Transcatheter Academy,” said Dr Al-Azizi. “For many years I have admired the quality of educational content published by Radcliffe Cardiology. This new platform will represent a vital step forward in how we share expertise, evidence and procedural excellence with the global interventional community. I look forward to working alongside the team to foster deeper engagement, continuous learning and ultimately better outcomes for patients.”

Of the appointment, David Ramsey, CEO of Radcliffe Group, commented:

“We are thrilled to welcome Dr Al-Azizi to lead Transcatheter Academy. His clinical insight, academic rigour and dedication to education align perfectly with our vision. Under his guidance, we are confident that Transcatheter Academy will become an essential resource for interventional cardiologists worldwide.”
