Arrhythmia Academy, a community supporting continuous learning for healthcare professionals within the electrophysiology and cardiac rhythm management sphere, today announces the appointment of Prof Luigi Di Biase to the position of Editor-in-Chief.
An internationally-recognised thought-leader, Prof Di Biase is System Director of Electrophysiology at Montefiore Health System, Section Head of Electrophysiology and Director of Arrhythmia Services at Montefiore Einstein College of Medicine, and also serves as Professor of Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York, US.
As Editor-in-Chief of Arrhythmia Academy, Prof Di Biase will provide strategic direction on the development of the platform’s content – including educational interviews, peer-to-peer discussions, webinars and journal clubs – aimed at advancing knowledge in arrhythmia management for physicians worldwide.
On his appointment, Prof Di Biase commented, “For several years I have admired Arrhythmia Academy as a leading information source serving the electrophysiology community. Under the tutelage of [Founding Editor-in-Chief] Prof Angelo Auricchio, the platform developed a strong reputation for publishing high-quality information, disseminating timely insights and opinion from leading figures within the community. I am delighted to assume the position of Editor-in-Chief and help Arrhythmia Academy continue this exciting journey.”

About Luigi Di Biase
Prof Luigi Di Biase is System Director Electrophysiology at Montefiore Health System, Section Head of Electrophysiology and Director of Arrhythmia Services at Montefiore Einstein and Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York, US. He also serves as Adjunct Professor at the University of Texas, Department of Biomedical Engineering and as Senior Researcher at the Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute at St Davids Medical Center in Austin, Texas. Prof Di Biase was awarded a PhD in cardiovascular physiopathology from the University of Foggia, Italy, and completed a research fellowship at the Miller Family Heart & Vascular Institute at the Cleveland Clinic, US. He gained a master’s degree in electrophysiology and pacing from the University of Insubria and Brescia, and completed medical school at the University of Bari, Italy and an extended training at the Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute at St Davids Medical Center in Austin, Texas, under the guidance of Prof Andrea Natale. With research focused on electrophysiology – particularly catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation and ventricular arrhythmias – Prof Di Biase has authored over 750 publications in international journals, and in 2017 and 2024 authored the HRS/EHRA/ECAS/APHRS/SOLAECE expert consensus statement on catheter and surgical ablation of atrial fibrillation. He serves as Executive and Associate Editor for high impact factor and prestigious EP journals.
